Core Values
We were created on the vision that Education is the cornerstone for the upliftment of people to play a significant role in the world and develop productive and prosperous lifestyles for all. We are committed to our core values of Excellence, Ethics and Dignity, Diversity, Student Family Focused, Life-long Learning, Collaboration, and Community Engagement.
The COVID-19 Pandemic has disrupted all our lives in a variety of ways. The impact felt in Education has been widespread, with learning loss as one of the main impediments to academic growth. Time is of the essence as schools seek ways to support academic recovery and address the needs of those most vulnerable. Let Lee’s Academy help your child reach their full potential. The learning loss experienced due to the pandemic, particularly by Black high school students, provides an opportunity for an effective intervention program. Lee’s Academy is a joint venture between for-profit and non-profit entities delivering high-quality instructional tutoring. The target customer segment is African American high school students that have experienced learning loss due to the pandemic. We seek to specifically address those students that are performing below grade level according to academic standards. The initial geographic focus is virtual and will be on areas with more significant learning loss during the pandemic.
Lee's Academy was the lifelong work, hope, and dream of the late Mrs. Edith O. Lee affectionately called Miss Edie, Miss Lee, or Grandmother.
A Virtual Afterschool Program was established in her memory and with the same endearment and concern for educating all children. Mrs. Lee trained hundreds of children in her home and public, Catholic, and alternative schools for over 45 years in Pittsburgh, PA. She was an avid Christian Education teacher at Bidwell Presbyterian Church and an after-school monitor at Bidwell Education Center also in Pittsburgh.
In January 2022, the Lee's Academy Virtual Afterschool Program will be operational, and today, we launch the Lee's Academy marketing and fundraising efforts ten years from the day Miss Edie transitioned into the arms of her Father God. Please spread the word and participate in our first fundraising effort! Detail below. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
